Being Thankful.

Currently in my life a lot of very important aspects are turning upside down. My relationship with Nick is over and solely based on friendship now, he is hanging out with other girls, etc. My family and I are moving. School is getting way harder, and the new semester has just begun. College is coming closer every day. I'm getting put under pressure to get a job to make my own money and pay for my own things. I have copious responsibilities, being the oldest, and I am juggling homework, my music career, school in general, family, a social life, and I have so much other stuff on my plate. But then I started thinking about how fortunate I am. I am able to do all of these things because of all the people who love and support me. My relationship with Nick is over most likely for the best, and since we broke up not only have I grown closer to him as a friend, but I have been less distracted from God, and I am able to devote myself to him, the one who loves me more than I can even imagine. I have been less distracted by him when doing homework, and have had more time to spend with my family again. I am not saying Nick was EVER a bad thing, because he DEFINITELY was not. He is the most amazing guy I know, and whoever ends up with him is one lucky girl. I love that we have been able to maintain a healthy friendship through this. He is and always will be my best friend. Also, I have been hanging out with my best girlfriend in the whole world, Andrea. She is such an awesome friend, and I love her to death! I tell her everything, and now that we are both single(we both became single around the same time..ironical) were able to hang out so much more, and help each other in our journey to come closer to God. :) Now me my mom, Justin and Jenna are moving! I am so excited, Our house is so perfect! I love it! I am so thankful that we will be living just the four of us again. I now our relationship as a family will grow so much stronger. I am thankful for my mom. She is such a strong woman, and she is so beautiful, intelligent, and has this glow about her. She puts up with SO much from me. I give her a lot of crap at times, and she still loves me. School has been really hard with Show Choir season just starting. I complain about having to be out until 9:30-10pm on a school night, but I have to be thankful for it is SUCH an opportunity to be with an amazing group of singers. Not everyone can be in this group, and I was selected to be. I guess lately, I have found myself complaining about every little thing I possibly can. But I stopped to think, everything I am complain about aren't all completely negative. Every one of my problems I'm dealing with all really have a positive outlook. Nick and I have a closer relationship now then before. My family and I are going to be together as four once again, happy under one roof! Show Choir is so much fun, and we rock the competitions. At school I have so many ore opportunities then other schools may offer. And most importantly over everything else, lately I have made time for God. The reason why everything is starting to look up id because of him. He is the love of my life, and my best friend! Out of everything I am thankful for, Jesus is all the way at the top. So thank you for the cross, and the life you gave. Hallelujah Jesus, you are the everlasting light. I love you all!

The Fabulous World of Show Choir.

Well, to start off, the world of Show Choir is a very hard concept to explain let alone comprehend. But I will try.. Singing and Dancing simultaneously is what we do best. We wear about 5 pounds of makeup, fake hair, and perform 20 minute shows, with 30 second costume changes throughout.. We leave at 7 in the morning and take bus to our destination (usually 2-4 hour trips) and spend all day at the competition watching other show choirs, and of course compete ourselves against them all. (and usually win..not to brag or anything..) We spend he entire day there and leave around midnight, meaning we get back home around 3am.. Hopefully this will give you a greater understanding of what I do. That is just the competition part of it. The practices before are a WHOLE different story. Lets just say I spend more time singing and dancing with my show choir then I do sleeping and spending time with my family combined. But I love it so much. Being on stage...what a great feeling. An even better feeling is knowing that everyone is scared of your show choir because you're so good. We are one of those show choirs. :) Our show is intense, and takes SO much energy. Ask anyone in show choir, IT IS A SPORT. If golf is than show choir definitely makes the cut. The past two weekends we have traveled to Manona Grove and Milton High school. In Manona we received 3rd place, which is good because it is our toughest competition of the year. Then we went to Milton yesterday, and we got SECOND PLACE! We were in second behind the 3rd best show choir in the nation! So we rocked it :) They only beat us by 32 points!!!! I love show choir so much. Everyone in show choir is so animated and chipper. They all love performing and having a good time! That's why it is like another world! All of us show choir junkies are in a building from about 7am-11pm and it is total AWESOMENESS! Here are some pictures, and if you are interested in seeing OASC (<----that's the name of my show choir) then here is a link to our show! :) Love you all!

My spoiled rotten little Harmony!

Here are just some random shots of my cute cute CUTE Harmony. She is such a sweetheart. I love her to death! :) She enjoys sleeping in my bed, chewing up papers, eating treats, barking, playing on my keyboard, snuggling, and most of all attention! :) She loves everybody, but I won't let anyone forget...she's MINE! :P hehe.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I really couldn't have had a more amazing birthday! Lets see what did I do today? Well...I woke up at 6:00 am all ready to get up for school, when Nick texts me saying, "No school! We have a cold day!" I was soooo happy! This is the third year in a row where there has been an ice, snow, or cold day on my birthday! :D (It was -50 degrees today) So then I went back to sleep until around 9:30am when my sweet little Harmony woke me up, because she needed to potty. She was the best birthday gift i could have ever asked for...such a little angel. Then I got up, chilled for a while, hopped in the shower, got ready to go, and headed to Andrea's. From there I went to her grandma's with her and we had lunch and she altered my show choir dresses. (We have our first competiton saturday! Pray for us!) Then I went home, and Nick picked me up and took me out to dinner at my favorite resturaunt, Cancun. Mexican food is my all time favorite. :) Afterwards, he took me home and then Andrea, Emily, and myself went and got our ears pierced! Me and Andrea got our cartilage pierced, and Emily got you standard ear lobe piercings for her first time ever! The guy who did it, Kris, was sooooo awesome! He was hilarious and ridiculously cool! It was so much fun! haha at first we were all a little scared, cause we were down town, and all the tatoo parlors didn't look very legit..but as soo as we walked into Kris's place we felt at ease. It was so clean, and had a really cool vibe. I can't wait to go back and get my nose pierced in May! (if my mom will allow... :)) Either way..when I'm 18. :) Well, I just thought I'd share my great day with you all. Thankyou mama for everything! I love you! :) Next year...I'll be an ADULT! yeeeeeah! Can't wait. :) Thanks for all the birthday wishes as well. Love you guys. -Jay

Welcome Home Harmony!

Meet Harmony. My perfect new puppy. I got her from my wonderful mama as an early birthday present. I love her so much! I have FULL responsibility for her though. I have to train her, feed her, walk her, pay for her vet appointments and all her other expenses, bathe her, and everything that goes along with having a dog. I'm so excited for this opportunity to take care of such a little angel! She is only about two pounds and loves to cuddle up right by your neck. :) She also is very playful. I am so blessed to have her! Thankyou forever and ever mama! I love you!

Winter Camp 2009

This year was my first year to be able to make it to Winter camp. Winter Camp is in this really awesome place where our Youth Group goes every winter and does all sorts of activities. Here is the low down of the most awesome weekend of winter. FRIDAY: We left church around 3:45 and got to camp about 3 hours later. After setting up in our cabins we headed down to the audotorium, (which is hardly and audotorium) where we met the most awesome speaker ever Todd Lenns. He talked to us all about the sessions we are going to have with him throughout the weekend and then began to tell us his story. Afterwards it was about ten o clock and us girls decided to go to the cafe and play catch phrase with the guys. We all decided to wal back to our cabin and get ready for bed. Once there we all got our second wind and decided to stay up reaaaallly late! Around 2:30 am me, Andrea, Abbie, Emily, and Brenda all went on a walk because it started to snow lightly and was so beautiful! After that we thought we should get a little sleep since we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow!
SATURDAY: We all woke up a 7am and got ready for the day. We went to breakfast and then went and listened to Todd speak. We talked about the parable of the prodigal son. (Luke 15:11-32) It's about a father and his son asking him for half of his wealth instead of having to wait until, his father passes on. The father respected his wishes give his son the money. As soon as the son recieves the money he packs everything he owns and takes off and lives a wild life far away from his home. The son went and wasted all the money having fun while the father awaited for his return.. the son realized he had made wrong choices and started on his way back home. The father waited and longed for his son to come home and when he saw him on his way he ran to him with joy. You see, the father in this story resembles Jesus, while we resemble the son. We are all sinners and make bad choices but no matter what we do even if we turn our hearts far away from God he is always there loving you endlessly and wanting you to come back to him with all his heart. God never judges you. The verse that stood out to me the most was, "He got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, thre his arms around him and kissed him" Luke 15:20 Think about that for a minute. We are so easily turned from Jesus and look where he remains. He is stands there waiting for you. All you have to do is turn to Jesus and he will run to you. All he wants is to be with you. He wants you to come to him as you are. He will forgive you of all your sins and love you more than you can even imagine. He always has and always will love you. I love you Jesus. Anyway, after the session we went tubing on the crazy massive hill! It felt like a rollar coaster all the way down! We did that for quite sometime and then went to eat some lunch. After lunch we went and played tackle snow football! I got tackled to the ground in like 3 seconds. I was no match for the guys. haha. Some of us quit and had a game of broom ball-four on four. It was great! :D It soon got dark and a hail storm began. The hail was the size of dimes! But being hard core we all decided to go snow shoeing in -10 weather in the middle of a hail storm. We went to the snow shoe place and said it was to dark and late and dangerous to to that, so we decided, "hey we're all warm, lets go tubing!" So we went tubing in an ice storm. It was soo painful! haha But soo much fun. After the tubing nobody wanted to go to sleep considering we all knew that tomorrow was just a three hour drive home! So all of us stayed up and played more games! After games our usual bible study girls got together with the underclassmen and Abbie and Andrea played guitar while I led the singing and we sang worship music for like an hour and a half! After that the younger girls left and us older girls ended up staying awake until about 4:30 am!
SUNDAY: Well, we woke up about 4 hours after we went to sleep, got ready, and went to breakfast in the cafe. Afterwards we went and had our final session with Todd. He was so inspirational to me and made so much sense. He helped me fill in the gaps I wasn't able to figure out alone, and he answered a lot of questions that were running through my mind.
Now I am sitting in my basment still running on almost no sleep for the whole weekend writing this. It's 8 o' clockish and feels like 6am! School will be a drag tomorrow..but I'll get through it. Winter Camp is an experience I won't forget. My relationship with God has become so much stronger just while being there for two days and I already feel a change. Remember, God is right there next to you waiting for you to come to him. he loves you and wants to live with you eternally in heaven. All you have to do is seek god, seek god and he will come running to you and give you the most warm and embracing hug you can imagine. God loves you all.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
