"J"

When your day is full of sunshine and laughter and everything is going ok the letter of that day should start with a J.….

Because J is the smile that stretches across your face, and the memory of you favorite place,
The feeling you get when you think of a summer day, and the sun’s rays on your skin as you go out to play.
J is the light that changed night to day and the wonderful future that is coming your way.
J puts me in a better mood and I feel like I don’t have to hide,
When I talk to her all I wanna do is show my feelings inside.
I’m a better person when I’m with her and I enjoy her by my side,
But she is far away now, I wish I could bring her back but my hands are behind my back and tied.
All I have now are memories and hope I will see her one day,
But for now, in my heart, J will always stay….

Perfect Day.

My day was today was such a wonderful day. The weather was SO nice! In the mid 70's and school was great because we didn't do anything! Once school was out I found out that I made it into MADRIGALS! This is the top choir in my school, only 4 sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses are chosen I was one of the four sopranos! yay! I've been seriously waiting for that moment when I knew I was in since like 6th grade when I first saw them perform...sigh....:):) and now I'm one of them! After school, David and I talked for a long time, and that was great. David is this guy I have a HUGE crush on..and he likes me a lot too..hehe. So he drove me home, and then when I got here, Abbie calls and wanted to go celebrate our AWESOME accomplishment of making it into Madrigals! So we went out and got chinese food. YUMMMM. Then headed to coldstone and got a LOVE IT! hehe so delicious. After that I came home, and couldnt stand being inside anymore, so I went out with my sister's camera (mine is dead at the moment...haha) and got a few pics of "almost to be summer..." It has been such a great day and tomorrow is already Friday! School is almost OUT and I CANNOT EVEN WAIT! Love you all so much. :)
Love,
Jessica

I got the Exemplary Award!

So I had state last Saturday, and I received the exemplary award for my musical theater solo! I was soooooo excited about this! :D I's a very hard award to get, and the judge can only pick four people for the enitire day out of at least 100 solos that they watch. Now I get to go to Madison and sing for a music confernece. :D I felt so honored as was very surprised! Anyway, I thought I share that with you guys! Also, today I found out about if I made it into the top choir in my highschool. Only 12 girls make it in! Im nervous, so if you read this and you remember, I would greatly appreciate the prayers.. :) I love you guys, and life is going great. :)

WEEK ONE: "The week of little Jars...aka JARRITOS!"

The first week, Abbie and I went to our favorite place in the world, el supermercado de mexico, y compramos Jarritos! haha translation, we went the the mexican super market and bought our favorite drinks, called Jarritos. We don't recommend the particular flavor we are drinking in the picture to the left, it taste kind of like vinegar, but hey if you wanna try it go right ahead. My favorite us guava. :) Try it sometime! It's great :)

SUMMER COUNTDOWN!

This is me and one of my best friends ever, Abbie. We are doing this awesome thing where each week we do something fun until school is out. It's a great plan, we do something fun every Wednesday! I'll post the weeks so far above. :)

Jenna

Jenna and I went to an open field one night just because it was so beautiful out, and Jenna decided to start picking dandalions for my mom. She is such a little cutie, and I had to capture the moment... She is a sweetheart, and I wouldn't trade her for the world. I am so thankful for my wonderful family. :)

PROM!

Prom was this past weekend and it was the best dance i have been to yet! I went with Nick, and no we're not dating, I'm not attracted to him anymore...he has changed A LOT. But that is a whole different story. ANYWAY, I loved getting all dressed up, and taking pictures with my best friends. :)I hope you enjoy these pics! :)Love all ya'll!

LIFE IS SO GOOD.

So the bad days are starting to fly at the window. I am finally starting to get over Nick, slowly, but surely... but I will eventually. 'sigh'. ANYWAY, I MADE IT INTO HONORS CHOIR AGAIN THIS YEAR! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOOOO SOOOOO EXCITED! I am one of the top high school sopranos in the state of Wisconsin! There is only about 25 of us! :D I know it sounds like I'm bragging, but I am just proud of myself, considering I was sick when I auditioned, and didn't feel the greatest about it. but apparently the judge thought otherwise! Also prom is coming up in about a month, and I am NOT going with Nick.c (wish I was still, but whatever.) I am going with one of my best friends named Gabe. I am so looking forward to my junior prom! Me and my mom are going to go shop for dresses today in about 30 minutes or so. She is so sweet. :) I love her to death. School has been rough, with the weather getting warmer and summer getting closer and closer everyday I can just smell it, my school work ethic is slacking...especially in Chemistry. WORST subject EVER by the way. So other than School sucking, I have been doing really well. Also, Solo and Ensemble is this Saturday, so I would appreciate it very very much if you would all pray that I make it to state with both of my solos! I am performing with 6 different events that day. 1) Musical Theater Solo: "Your Daddy's Son"-Ragtime 2) Classical Solo: "Ave Maria"-Gounod 3) Junior Triple Trio: "Three Spanish Ballads" and "Moon Song" 4) Senior Triple Trio: "Remember me" and "Yandro" 5) Old Abe Show Choir: "Finale B"-Rent and "Carry on my Wayward son"-Kansas 6) "Il Est Bel Et Bon"-Pierre Passereau
Those are the events I am apart of! :D I was just asked at the beginning of the week to join the Senior's triple trio, because one of there sopranos has an audition. Big shoes to fill, and only a few days to learn two new songs. But I have them pretty much memorized! yay! :) Anyway, that is what I have been up to the last couple of weeks. OH! One more thing- Luther College, is a private school in Decorah, Iowa. It has an amazing music program, and other very good programs as well. But the cool thing is that their top choir is coming to Eau Claire and singing at a church downtown. My voice teacher decided to surprise me and set up a one on one session for me to sing for the the director of that choir! I am SO excited! He is the one in charge of the music program there, and I get to sing for him! She is only setting this little deal up for me, and I feel SO thankful. I can't wait.
To conclude, life is going really well for me right now.. I still have my struggles (mostly Nick. :/) but I'm trying and praying for my feelings to fade, and to move on into a better direction. i miss you and love you all!
P.S. Soon I will post videos of me singing my two solos for you guys to watch and critique for me if you can. :) Again, i love you all.
Love always,
Jay

Trip to the U of M!

So this weekend Andrea and I decided to take a little trip up to Minnesota to see emily in the Twin Cities! We drove up there after school on Friday and stayed until late this morning and came back home. So here was our weekend:
FRIDAY: Left Home and drove up to the University of Minnesota and hung out in Emily's dorm for a while. Then We got ready for a night out on the town! We were going to go sing karaoke but that didn't work out, because we got there and found out you have to be 18...they wouldn't let us in...it was sad. BUT we ended up having WAY more fun. It was getting pretty late and the skyline looked SOOO beautiful! So we decided to walk to the bridge and take pictures. Then we walked back and stayed up listening to music and hanging out with her friends until early in the morning! It was a blast.
SATURDAY: The next morning, we went to breakfast at this cute little bagel place on the corner, it was SO good.(if you haven't tried those yummy smoothie drinks called "naked" you are missing out! They are delicious.) We decided it would be fun to go to Uptown and go shopping! All the stores were CRAZY expensive, since it was the city, we didnt buy much, but it was still really fun looking around at all the little unique shops. So we went shopping ALL day took a bus back the main area and found a DELICIOUS chinese food place. It was really expensive but the food dishes were seriously GIGANTIC! It was just the three of us and we had enough food for a small army! hahaha.. So we ate and ate and ate...and ate. hehehe. After that we walked back to Em's dorm, and we were all so tired..so we took about a two hour nap. :) It was great. Then we got up and got ready to go to a comedy show! But this wasnt just any comedian! It was BJ Novak aka co-writer and actor, Ryan, from the Office! He came to the UofM to perform for the students. He was absolutely hilarious. After that Andrea, Emily, and I went back to her dorm and we all felt like watching the Office so we did. :)
SUNDAY: The last day there we got up, and went to the food hall and ate breakfast, packed, and headed back home. On the way back Andrea and I stopped because we saw a GIANT THRIFT STORE!!!(our weakness.) We both love a good thrift store. I get it from Grandma, but I dont know where Andrea gets it from! :P So we bought some cool stuff. haha.

Anyway, it was an extremely FUN weekend, that made me want highschool to be over like NOW. I cannot wait for college, and having that independence...it was so great. I am really looking forward to exploring a new place, meeting new people, and just starting over. I know Im only at the end of my junior year, but senioritis is kicking in big time already! I'm one step closer to graduating everyday and I CAN'T WAIT! :)

Being Thankful.

Currently in my life a lot of very important aspects are turning upside down. My relationship with Nick is over and solely based on friendship now, he is hanging out with other girls, etc. My family and I are moving. School is getting way harder, and the new semester has just begun. College is coming closer every day. I'm getting put under pressure to get a job to make my own money and pay for my own things. I have copious responsibilities, being the oldest, and I am juggling homework, my music career, school in general, family, a social life, and I have so much other stuff on my plate. But then I started thinking about how fortunate I am. I am able to do all of these things because of all the people who love and support me. My relationship with Nick is over most likely for the best, and since we broke up not only have I grown closer to him as a friend, but I have been less distracted from God, and I am able to devote myself to him, the one who loves me more than I can even imagine. I have been less distracted by him when doing homework, and have had more time to spend with my family again. I am not saying Nick was EVER a bad thing, because he DEFINITELY was not. He is the most amazing guy I know, and whoever ends up with him is one lucky girl. I love that we have been able to maintain a healthy friendship through this. He is and always will be my best friend. Also, I have been hanging out with my best girlfriend in the whole world, Andrea. She is such an awesome friend, and I love her to death! I tell her everything, and now that we are both single(we both became single around the same time..ironical) were able to hang out so much more, and help each other in our journey to come closer to God. :) Now me my mom, Justin and Jenna are moving! I am so excited, Our house is so perfect! I love it! I am so thankful that we will be living just the four of us again. I now our relationship as a family will grow so much stronger. I am thankful for my mom. She is such a strong woman, and she is so beautiful, intelligent, and has this glow about her. She puts up with SO much from me. I give her a lot of crap at times, and she still loves me. School has been really hard with Show Choir season just starting. I complain about having to be out until 9:30-10pm on a school night, but I have to be thankful for it is SUCH an opportunity to be with an amazing group of singers. Not everyone can be in this group, and I was selected to be. I guess lately, I have found myself complaining about every little thing I possibly can. But I stopped to think, everything I am complain about aren't all completely negative. Every one of my problems I'm dealing with all really have a positive outlook. Nick and I have a closer relationship now then before. My family and I are going to be together as four once again, happy under one roof! Show Choir is so much fun, and we rock the competitions. At school I have so many ore opportunities then other schools may offer. And most importantly over everything else, lately I have made time for God. The reason why everything is starting to look up id because of him. He is the love of my life, and my best friend! Out of everything I am thankful for, Jesus is all the way at the top. So thank you for the cross, and the life you gave. Hallelujah Jesus, you are the everlasting light. I love you all!

The Fabulous World of Show Choir.

Well, to start off, the world of Show Choir is a very hard concept to explain let alone comprehend. But I will try.. Singing and Dancing simultaneously is what we do best. We wear about 5 pounds of makeup, fake hair, and perform 20 minute shows, with 30 second costume changes throughout.. We leave at 7 in the morning and take bus to our destination (usually 2-4 hour trips) and spend all day at the competition watching other show choirs, and of course compete ourselves against them all. (and usually win..not to brag or anything..) We spend he entire day there and leave around midnight, meaning we get back home around 3am.. Hopefully this will give you a greater understanding of what I do. That is just the competition part of it. The practices before are a WHOLE different story. Lets just say I spend more time singing and dancing with my show choir then I do sleeping and spending time with my family combined. But I love it so much. Being on stage...what a great feeling. An even better feeling is knowing that everyone is scared of your show choir because you're so good. We are one of those show choirs. :) Our show is intense, and takes SO much energy. Ask anyone in show choir, IT IS A SPORT. If golf is than show choir definitely makes the cut. The past two weekends we have traveled to Manona Grove and Milton High school. In Manona we received 3rd place, which is good because it is our toughest competition of the year. Then we went to Milton yesterday, and we got SECOND PLACE! We were in second behind the 3rd best show choir in the nation! So we rocked it :) They only beat us by 32 points!!!! I love show choir so much. Everyone in show choir is so animated and chipper. They all love performing and having a good time! That's why it is like another world! All of us show choir junkies are in a building from about 7am-11pm and it is total AWESOMENESS! Here are some pictures, and if you are interested in seeing OASC (<----that's the name of my show choir) then here is a link to our show! :) Love you all!

My spoiled rotten little Harmony!

Here are just some random shots of my cute cute CUTE Harmony. She is such a sweetheart. I love her to death! :) She enjoys sleeping in my bed, chewing up papers, eating treats, barking, playing on my keyboard, snuggling, and most of all attention! :) She loves everybody, but I won't let anyone forget...she's MINE! :P hehe.
